The 35006 Locomotive Preservation Society has been involved with MN 35006 since 1983 when it was bought from Barry scrap yard and transported to Toddington on the GWSR to be restored to working order.
The Tender was missing, having been sold to another group, so a new tender had to be built.
The locomotive moved under its own steam for the first time in 2015, running on 2 cylinders.

It made its public debut in May 2016 at the GWSR Steam Gala, where it was one of the main attractions.

In 2015 it won the prestigious Heritage Railway Association, John Coiley award for Locomotive Restoration.

The plaque is shown below and is now displayed in the cab, attached to the tender.

We are always keen to welcome volunteers who wish to work on the loco – experience is not essential – only enthusiasm!

Obviously, engineering skills are of great use but we have many unskilled tasks as well.
We are also keen to encourage people to support us financially.

This can be done by joining the 35006 Locomotive Preservation Society, which supports the locomotive.

The 35006 Locomotive Co. Ltd., which owns the engine is a private company, limited by shares and as such it cannot advertise its shares for general sale.

Anyone who is interested in joining us will find all the details of how to go about it on the Join Us page.
